It all started with a very ambitious vision, a love of bringing people together, and a desire to create the ultimate space for families to reconnect.
Having met in high school, we – Justin and Juliana, a husband-and-wife duo from Houston, TX – first began toying with the idea of a vacation retreat when attempting to host our nearest and dearest in our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home. It was cramped, caused stilted conversations, and didn’t ignite connections as we’d hoped. Juliana’s father, Lynn, always dreamed of owning a bed and breakfast in Western NC, but, after his cancer diagnosis threw a spanner in his plans, this lifelong dream came to a standstill – until we set our sights on Bonnie Haven, that is.
Called Aunt Adeline's Bed and Breakfast at that time, hosting couples wanting to explore the nearby mountain range, we stumbled upon this hidden gem on our trip to NC in 2021. It was safe to say, we fell in love; with the home, the oh-so-friendly locals, and our visions for the property. It may have needed far more than a lick of paint, but the potential was there.
We’ve never been ones to jump into things half-heartedly, so we set our hearts on adding two additional bedroom suites, an open-plan living zone, a walk-in pantry, a mudroom, and a luxury chef’s kitchen, with the high-end furnishings to match. It was a big undertaking, but one we lived and breathed for the next six months, until the Bonnie Haven we know today was born.
We didn’t want to stop our luxury surroundings. Our ultimate goal was to create an environment that makes connections effortless, memories unfold, and multiple generations feel right at home. It’s a place where the whole family can co-exist, with dedicated zones for all ages, interests, and personalities. It’s a place where your every need is catered for. And ultimately, it’s a place for you.
