History
Bonnie Haven wasn’t always a luxury vacation rental near Asheville, NC – but it’s always told a story. Built between 1917 and 1923, this property has dedicated the last 100 years to welcoming people from all walks of life. Starting out as a boarding house in the ‘20s, nurses from the local hospital would call this colonial revival-style property ‘home’, switching their sights from nearby industrial towns to revel in the crisp, mountain air.
From there, the home swapped hands numerous times, finding itself under the ownership of Rene Chaffee until 1944; a well-known member of the community and the original innkeeper, known for serving Sunday meals to both guests and families throughout the neighborhood.
In recent years, the property thrived as Aunt Adeline’s Bed and Breakfast. As a 5-star B&B, this property was adored by all who visited – not just for the quaint decor and jaw-dropping surroundings, but for the true Southern hospitality shown by the owners, Sue and Mitch. When speaking to past guests, it’s clear that they’re united by their adoration for Sue and Mitch; a husband-and-wife duo dedicated to brightening lives, putting Hendersonville on the map, and welcoming their guests with open arms.
After fourteen years of bringing people together, igniting lifelong memories, and helping guests fall in love with the area, Mitch’s passing led to Aunt Adeline’s Bed and Breakfast closing its doors for one last time. After 1.5 years of little action, we made the leap, devoted to giving the home a new lease of life as a Hendersonville, North Carolina vacation rental. By keeping its original features, with the addition of some high-end, modern touches, we’re committed to carrying on the legacy, welcoming in the next generation of guests.
